I am embarking on a photographic project called Born On Sunday. As the name implies, I am looking to attend deliveries on Sundays. My goal is to photograph a wide variety of births from all socioeconomic statuses. My plan is to highlight birth in such a way that people can experience the universal emotions of the birth process no matter the setting (home, birth center, or hospital) or the income bracket of my subjects.
Participating in this birth photography project is FREE and parents will receive 25 artist selected and edited digital image files via digital download for personal use. Birth workers may receive some artist selected and edited images for use in online advertising of their birth businesses.
Guidelines:
– Mom is likely to deliver on Sunday. While I know birth is unpredictable, I need your best judgement to be used. If you are in active labor late Saturday or on Sunday, you can try calling me!
– Parents and birth workers must be willing to sign a full model release. I know this is a tricky one in a hospital setting so I can be a bit more lenient in that instance but participating doulas or family will need to sign off. This enables me to share the project (it’s intended purpose), share images with birth workers, and contribute to media such as magazines covering parenting and birth.
– Birth must be taking place in central Florida I am located in zipcode 32765 and currently am able to travel up to 90 minutes for this project (google maps can help you determine if you are within my travel radius). I may take births out of the area while traveling and will announce availability if it is possible.
– mom must not already have hired a birth photographer.
The project will be ongoing for a minimum of 6 months. Please understand that I may not be available to take every call.
